The Gravitate Health is a public – private partnership with 41 members from Europe and the US, co-led by University of Oslo (coordinator) and Pfizer (industry lead), funded by the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) – a joint undertaking of the European Commission, the European Federation of Pharmaceutical Industries and Associations (EFPIA), IMI2 Associated Partners.
Gravitate Health is a comprehensive initiative designed to enhance access to and understanding of electronic product information (ePI) and other trusted health data. Its core innovation is the Gravitate Lens (G-lens®), a tool that personalizes health information to promote safer medication use and better health outcomes. The project is organized into eight work packages (WPs) that cover areas such as user needs, patient engagement, technological development, interoperability, and sustainability. Each work package is co-led by public and industry partners, ensuring collaboration across sectors. These sections include:
- WP1: Identifying user needs to create patient-centric solutions.
- WP2: Ensuring patient engagement by involving users in the design and testing of solutions.
- WP3: Developing the Gravitate Lens (G-lens®) platform, which personalizes access to trusted health information.
- WP4: Creating end-user tools that facilitate better comprehension of electronic health data, such as electronic product information (ePI).
- WP5: Ensuring interoperability by adhering to industry standards, such as HL7 FHIR®.
- WP6: Evaluating the platform’s effectiveness in improving digital health literacy, patient safety, and treatment adherence.
- WP7: Planning for the sustainability and long-term success of the project.
- WP8: Overseeing governance and ensuring efficient project management and collaboration.
The Gravitate Health project aims to empower patients by fostering digital health literacy and enabling them to make more informed health decisions. The platform is designed to ensure access to reliable, personalized health data, while also improving adherence to treatment plans and medication safety. The collaboration between public and private stakeholders ensures the project’s success in building a scalable, interoperable digital health platform that addresses real user needs. The Gravitate Health initiative ultimately seeks to create a sustainable impact on healthcare by driving technological innovation and improving how health information is shared and understood.
