Hospitals on FHIR held a half-day well attended workshop at the UpHill Health location on 10 February 2025 in Lisbon, Portugal. It was a kind of a kick-off satellite event for the HL7 Europe Working Group Meeting and EU-a-thon held all week in Lisbon, too.

The workshop focused on the practical implementation of FHIR and its transformative potential for healthcare.

Integrating HL7 FHIR with AI Models holds promise in facilitating the move from unstructured to structured data and making data more clear, sharable and useable.
Leveraging the EEHRxF holds great promise towards improved interoperability, increased efficiency for all stakeholders involved, healthcare providers, patient and researchers.
HL7 Europe is launching the HL7 Europe Cancer Initiative with the goal of collaborating on the development of a core European Cancer Model.
The Cyber Resilience Act outlines steps toward making hospitals less vulnerable to cyber-attacks.
The Survivorship Passport is a promising tool designed to improve the long-term care of childhood cancer survivors.
The EHDS pilots have raised interesting questions. Portugal is going to be doing consultations with people on the ground, Hospitals on FHIR could be a contact point for feedback.
